Now they include cheap areas like Chinatown and Two Bridges and call that Lower East Side as well. Chinatown / Two Bridges is legit one of the most enjoyable neighborhoods in Manhattan. I never said it was not.Since covid I stopped going out, hanging out and don't care to anymore. Maybe I'm depressed or maybe I'm just in my 30s but I mostly do things in my neighborhood alone now or see family on weekends. Before covid I was still making plans and going out with friends to pop up events etc. Now I have zero desire to.East Harlem's like any urban neighborhood, with pockets of safety and areas to be cautious of. I wouldn’t feel comfortable there especially coming home late at night. It's not safe stay away, go downtown, go to Brooklyn, raise rents down there.
